How we keep this table honest

Read at source, never an aggregator

Every figure comes from that provider’s own website, never from a comparison site or a number we worked out ourselves.

Dated, so you can judge it

Each price carries the day we read it. Prices in this trade move, and an undated figure is worth very little.

Our own price is in the table

We put our £1,295 in the same table as everyone else’s, on the same terms and with the same date, so you can weigh it the same way.

Common questions

The questions families ask us most when they are comparing prices across the market.

What does a direct cremation cost in the UK?

The four providers in the table above publish between £1,295 and £1,595, every figure read from their own website on 26 August 2026. The UK average is £1,628, from SunLife's 2026 Cost of Dying report. Ours is £1,295, and it is the price rather than a starting point.

What makes your £1,295 different?

It does not move. Collecting your loved one from a home, a hospice, a hospital or a care home is already in it, anywhere in London, Nottinghamshire or Doncaster, with no mileage charge. The only thing we ever add is £250 when a collection has to be urgent.

Why do some prices say "from" and others do not?

A from-price is a floor, and the real total arrives after the phone call. A fixed price is the number. Two of the four figures above are from-prices. Ours is £1,295 and it stays there, though that promise is worth exactly as much as the itemised quote you get, so ask every firm for one in writing.

Does the price include collection from a home?

Ours does. Around a quarter of deaths in this country happen at home, so we include collection from a home, a hospice, a hospital or a care home anywhere in London, Nottinghamshire or Doncaster, with no mileage charge. It is worth asking every firm the same question, because it is often the real difference between two prices that look alike.

Where do these figures come from?

Each one was read from that provider's own website and carries the day we read it, 26 August 2026. Not a comparison site, not a search summary, and never a number we worked out ourselves. Prices in this trade move, so check the current figure before you decide.

Do you cover my area?

We collect from anywhere in London, Nottinghamshire and Doncaster, with no mileage charge. Outside those three areas we are not the right firm, and we will tell you so plainly rather than take the enquiry.

Decades of experience, thousands of families cared for

We definitely chose the right company

When choosing, it was hard — we'd never done anything like this before. We definitely chose the right company; their whole ethos is built around caring. From start to finish, Sebastian and his team worked tirelessly for a smooth process and took all the stress away. Our family can't thank Funero enough.

Impeccable service at a difficult time

I can't speak highly enough of Sebastian and the Funero team. I'll admit I was slightly worried about using them as they were far more competitive — but their service was impeccable, with regular, timely communication that was a huge comfort at a difficult time.

Every colleague at Funero went over and above during the repatriation of our loved one, from the first moment to the end and beyond. Calm, empathetic and endlessly patient

Considering the shock and our lack of knowledge, Sebastian and Mihai were absolutely amazing with their help and guidance. It was an emotionally draining time, but they are calm, polite, empathetic and warm — from practical advice to personal effort and so much patience. We can't thank them enough.

An exceptionally professional and compassionate team. During one of the most painful moments of my life they went above and beyond, offering genuine support and care. Thanks to their kindness and dedication, the burden of losing my mother was made a little easier. I am deeply grateful for their respect, empathy and humanity.

They brought our loved one home from Egypt

Our loved one died on holiday in Egypt and, as a family of modest means, what felt impossible was made possible. Funero was the only company that didn't ask for money upfront, which gave us time to fundraise — and their quote was more than reasonable. They kept us informed every step, translated everything, and their reps in Egypt worked so hard for us. We can't thank them enough for bringing our loved one home.
