Have a read before you pick up the phone.
Albin International do publish a price list. It is a PDF, it is dated July 2025, and it is a photograph of a printed document rather than text, so you cannot search it, copy a line out of it, or have a screen reader read it aloud.
The date matters as much as the format. Airline cargo rates, fuel surcharges and embassy fees have all moved since the middle of last year. A file cannot update itself, and unless you notice the date printed on it you have no way of knowing how old the number you are planning around is.
We cost the route in front of us against what it actually costs this week. The figure is all-inclusive and it arrives broken down: the preparation, the coffin, the flight, the documents, the consular fees and the coordination, each on its own line.
It is free, it takes about ten minutes, and it arrives as readable text on a phone at a bedside, which is where these things get read.
We will not claim to be the cheapest, because until we know where your loved one is neither of us knows what this costs. What we will say is that the figure we quote is the figure you pay.
A death abroad puts a chain of offices between you and a flight home: a doctor, a local registrar, a mortuary, a consulate, an airline. Each wants its own document, in its own language, in its own order.
We deal with all of them, in the local language, and put the paperwork together here. You will not be asked to travel, to sit in a foreign register office, or to post original certificates abroad.
Before you plan around any figure, find out whether it is already covered. Many travel policies include repatriation, and some life insurance policies and funeral plans do as well, though plenty do not and the wording is rarely obvious.
We will go through the policy with you and handle the claim, so you only pay for whatever the insurer does not. There is no charge for it, and it is the thing families most often discover too late to use.
We arrange the washing and the embalming, and restore a natural, peaceful appearance. Your loved one travels in a proper coffin, by road in a specialist vehicle or in the hold of a scheduled flight, handled under the airline's own repatriation procedures.
Transit documents take the place of a passport, and they are issued by the country where the death happened rather than by anyone here. Their form and their processing time both differ country by country, which is one reason a list printed a year ago cannot tell you how long your own case will take.
We meet the aircraft, oversee the transfer, and hand your loved one into the care of the funeral director you have chosen, anywhere in the UK. Where a cremation is planned, a coroner authorises it first and we coordinate that so the date is not lost.
A death that happened abroad does not need registering again here, though it can be recorded with the General Register Office if you would like a UK record of it.
If a direct cremation is the right answer instead, we arrange those ourselves for a fixed £1,295. It is priced today, on a page you can read, and it covers the whole service.
The same specialists carry your case from the first call to the last document, reachable directly, and you are never asked to explain what happened a second time to somebody new.
Somebody answers at any hour, every day of the year. Most first calls reach us at night, because that is when news from another country arrives. That call is free and it commits you to nothing.

A figure priced against what things cost this week, not against a list dated July 2025.
Readable text on a phone rather than a scanned PDF you have to download and squint at.
You never fly out. We deal with the doctor, the registrar, the mortuary and the consulate in their own language.
We check whether the insurance already covers it and handle the claim, so you pay only the remainder.
The same specialists from the first call to the last document, reachable at any hour.
At every step you know what comes next, what it costs and who is looking after it. You never have to chase us. From the first message to the arrival, we handle everything.

From the first conversation we tell you what to expect: the route, the steps and a clear estimated cost. No guessing, no pressure.

We handle the death certificate, the mortuary passport and every formality with the authorities, so you are not queuing at an embassy or posting originals abroad.

Washing, embalming, the coffin and dignified international transport, all inside the price you have already seen. Nothing is added along the way.

We stay with you from the departure through to the arrival, then help with the final paperwork and registering the death.
When choosing, it was hard — we'd never done anything like this before. We definitely chose the right company; their whole ethos is built around caring. From start to finish, Sebastian and his team worked tirelessly for a smooth process and took all the stress away. Our family can't thank Funero enough.
I can't speak highly enough of Sebastian and the Funero team. I'll admit I was slightly worried about using them as they were far more competitive — but their service was impeccable, with regular, timely communication that was a huge comfort at a difficult time.
Funero truly stands out — caring staff, affordable prices and excellent communication. Their team goes above and beyond to make the process smooth and respectful, making a difficult time a little easier, and affordable without ever compromising on quality or care.
I'm from Sydney and lost my brother in London. I was lucky to find Funero to help with the repatriation. Sebastian was fast, helpful and available at all times — they made the whole process easy for me. Highly recommended!
Every colleague at Funero went over and above during the repatriation of our loved one, from the first moment to the end and beyond. They spared no effort to make it happen far sooner than usual, treated our loved one with outstanding respect, and their empathy made an unbearable time feel manageable. Your loved ones will be in the best of hands.
Considering the shock and our lack of knowledge, Sebastian and Mihai were absolutely amazing with their help and guidance. It was an emotionally draining time, but they are calm, polite, empathetic and warm — from practical advice to personal effort and so much patience. We can't thank them enough.
An exceptionally professional and compassionate team. During one of the most painful moments of my life they went above and beyond, offering genuine support and care. Thanks to their kindness and dedication, the burden of losing my mother was made a little easier. I am deeply grateful for their respect, empathy and humanity.
Our loved one died on holiday in Egypt and, as a family of modest means, what felt impossible was made possible. Funero was the only company that didn't ask for money upfront, which gave us time to fundraise — and their quote was more than reasonable. They kept us informed every step, translated everything, and their reps in Egypt worked so hard for us. We can't thank them enough for bringing our loved one home.

Nothing goes wrong. From your first call to the day your loved one is home, the same specialists handle all of it. You are never passed from one person to the next, and there is nothing left for you to arrange or chase.
It depends on the country, the flight and what the local authorities require. Albin publish a standardised price list, though as a scanned PDF dated July 2025, so it shows the shape of the cost rather than this week's number. We will cost your actual route and send a free itemised figure, usually inside about ten minutes, covering the coffin, the preparation, the documents, the consular fees and the transport.
Usually 2 to 7 days. The flight is rarely what holds it up. What sets the pace is how quickly the authorities where the death happened will issue and release the documents, and some countries are considerably slower than others. We will tell you what your own case looks like on the first call.
Often, but not always, and the wording is rarely obvious. Many travel policies include repatriation cover, and some life insurance policies and funeral plans do too. We will read the policy with you and handle the claim, so you only pay for whatever is not already covered.
Usually the local death certificate, a certificate of embalming, a certificate showing there is no contagious disease, and authorisation from the consulate or the authorities in the country where the death happened. A person does not travel on a passport, so transit documents are issued instead. We prepare and coordinate all of it as part of the price.
Yes, and it is simpler and considerably cheaper than repatriating a coffin. If your loved one has been cremated abroad, or will be, the ashes travel with the cremation certificate and the death certificate, either as accompanied hand luggage or by a tracked, documented courier, depending on the airline and the country.
We meet the aircraft and oversee the transfer, then hand your loved one into the care of the funeral director you have chosen, anywhere in the country. Where a cremation is planned, the coroner has to give authority first and we coordinate that so the funeral date does not slip.

Speak to a repatriation specialist any time, day or night — we'll guide you through every step.
